Outagamie County, along with many other municipalities across Wisconsin and the country, was recently named by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a Phase II community with regards to stormwater management.  This means that the County is now required to prepare and implement a stormwater management and erosion control plan.  That plan must include the following six minimum control measures:

One of the efforts that the County is participating in is a cooperative venture with other communities of northeast Wisconsin called the North East Wisconsin Stormwater Consortium (NEWSC).  The mission of NEWSC is to facilitate efficient implementation of stormwater programs locally and regionally that will meet Department of Natural Resources and EPA regulatory requirements and maximize the benefit of stormwater activities to the watershed.
