WHAT IS WIC?
"WIC" stands for the Special Supplemental Nutrition
Program for Women, Infants, and Children. It is a nutrition
program that helps mothers and young children (under 5 years of age)
eat well and stay healthy.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR WIC?
1. Applicants must meet the following
criteria.
- Be a pregnant women
- Breastfeeding (up to baby's
first birthday)
- A postpartum women who is not
breastfeeding (up to six months after delivery of the baby)
- Have a child
under the age of five

2. Applicants must fall under these
income guidelines:
WIC
Income Eligibility Table (July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010)

The
WIC Program uses the same income guidelines as free and reduced price
school lunches.

Fathers, guardians and foster parents may apply for WIC for their
children.

Many working families qualify.
3. And, the applicant
must have a nutritional or health need.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR WIC?

Contact the Outagamie County WIC Program at (920) 832-5109 for
additional information or to schedule an appointment. The office
is located in the County Administration Building, 410 S. Walnut Street,
Appleton.
