Support Staff
The clerical support staff for the Sheriff’s Department consists of five full-time Records Clerks, and two part-time Records Clerks. These employees perform a variety of duties for every division of this Department. Duties include:

Process citations and warrants, handle the main phone line and reception duties, perform records checks, submit accident reports to the State of Wisconsin, type and prepare various documents for police incidents, re-straining orders and injunctions, process incoming and out-going mail for the Jail Division, and staffing
of the Black Creek Satellite office part-time.

The Sheriff’s Department Administrative staff consists of the Sheriff, Undersheriff, Corrections Division Captain, Patrol Division Captain and four Lieutenants. The Sheriff and his staff are responsible for the direction and management of the 213 full-time and 15 part-time department employees providing law enforcement services to Outagamie County in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. The administrative staff works closely together in dealing with daily operations and issues that affect the department.

The Sheriff’s Administrative Assistant provides support to the administrative staff, as well as supervising one Departmental Secretary, one part-time and five full-time Records Clerks, and one MIS Coordinator.

The Administrative staff also works with the department’s Accounts Manager to develop and administer the annual budget. Revenues and expenditures are closely monitored to provide the highest quality and level of service in the most proficient manner.

 

 

 

 

Continuing Education

All divisions are currently trained in CPR, Automated External Defibrillators (AED), and Blood Borne Pathogens. Officers and employees in all divisions attended in-service training in their respective areas of responsibilities as well as specialized training.

The Sheriff’s Department Secretary is responsible for coordinating and maintaining department training records. All Sheriff’s Department employees are trained to meet the requirements of the State, as well as for the challenges of our changing world.

Basic Certification training for Telecommunicators is 40 hours, with an additional 24 hours of training required for certification in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD). The recruit academy for Correctional Officers is a 120-hour program. The Deputy Sheriff’s basic training is a 520-hour program.
